Find Confidence in Self-Awareness

You can positively impact every area of your life by improving your skill of self-awareness. Understanding your natural tendencies and learning how to lead yourself and your emotions is key in growing as a leader. If you’re more aware of yourself, you’ll find that you’re more confident in everything you do.

If you want to learn more about yourself, one simple way is to ask people around you. The people who live with you, who work with you, those are the people that can give you a wealth of information on yourself. You’ll be surprised at how many insights you can get when you ask questions like: “What’s it like to be on the other side of me?” and “What’s something you’d like to see more or less of from me?”. Of course, you’ll want to ask someone who’s feedback you value.

The thought of doing this, asking people about yourself, might stop you in your tracks and make you break into a cold sweat. But if you’re asking the right people that you trust and value, it can be a great experience. All this helps us understand what others see as the outward expression of ourselves.

Self-awareness of what’s going on inside of us is just as important. Knowing what situations trigger emotional responses and feelings can help us establish habits and practices to improve how we respond to life happening around us. But self-awareness of what’s going on inside of us can be challenging because we can’t just ask someone else to tell us what’s going on inside of us. That’s when it’s helpful to gain insights from an emotional intelligence assessment such as the one we offer along with a personal coaching session. See our website for more details.
